Blister Beetles

This species is indigenous to the Arizona uplands of the Sonoran Desert and the lower Colorado desert. Adults sometimes form large feeding and mating aggregations on various desert plants in the spring. They are seen mostly on eriastrums (eating the flowers and chewing the leaves for moisture) and also on alfalfa. They also attack garden vegetables and other crops.
